Mt. Cross Summer Staff
2021 SUMMER STAFF OPPORTUNITIES!
Summer 2021 in a Nutshell
This year, we'll be having Family Camp all summer long! Staff will be hired to do "all the things" that make camp, camp - leading Bible studies, playing games, singing songs, doing arts and crafts, creating relationships with campers, and sharing God's love with everyone - but it will look a bit different than a "normal" summer. Families will have the option to stay one night, two nights, or even every night in the summer if they want, and staff will be assigned a family to be their "host" for their time at camp. This could mean your days are filled to the brim with activities because your family wants to do everything, every day. Or, it could mean that you're not quite as busy because your family has decided they want to spend the day in Santa Cruz. And because families will have options in how long they stay and how they decide to experience camp, you will serve a wide variety of people and have a variety of experiences, meaning that no week (or even no two days) will be the same! The one constant of the summer will be that you will be serving alongside a fun-loving, hard-working, faithful group of folks, and you will grow in your faith, as a leader, and as a person!
Basic Information for All Positions
Understand yourself as a Christian; be willing to talk about it and live it out. Within this, have a willingness to be open and affirming about working within a Lutheran organization and to lead within that tradition (training will be provided).
Must be at least 18 years old and a high school (or equivalent) graduate. Some positions require at least one year post-high school and/or to be at least 21.
Complete a background check, provide 3 personal references, and agree to abide by all Mt. Cross summer staff policies.
Some positions require a copy of your (good) driving record.
Current CPR & First Aid training by either American Red Cross or American Heart Association (can be provided).
June 1 - July 24, 2021

All staff receive at least 1 hour off each day, as well as 24 consecutive hours off each week.
As our summer is a very short period of time, all staff are expected to work the full summer.
