HOW TO APPLY

• Contact Katie Clark, Director of Programs, with questions and/or interest in becoming a summer counselor or support staff.
• Schedule an Interview (your responsibility to schedule).

GENERAL APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS
All applicants must meet the followng requirements:

  • have a loving, growing relationship with Jesus Christ.

  • must be 18 years old, a high school graduate, and have 1 year post high school experience.

    • the ONLY EXCEPTION to this rule is if you have successfully completed the CIT & Jr Staff program, will be 18 year old and a high school graduate, then you may also apply.

    • if you will not be 18 and/or a high school graduate by summer 2012 please consider our counselor in training program

  • have a healthy work ethic, willingness to work hard, be flexible and desire to serve in a variety of ways. (Counselors will minister and serve others including counseling youth, counseling adults with special needs, leading off-site day camps, work projects, cleaning camp buildings, kitchen dish duty and general cleaning and care taking of the environment.)

  • complete a voluntary background check, provide personal references, and agree to abide by all Mt. Cross summer staff policies. Some positions require a copy of your driving record.

  • completely fill out and sign the summer staff application.

TRAINING & DATES
The summer begins with a week and a half of staff training. Preference will be given to staff who are able to commit to working all 9 weeks of camp and two weeks of training.

  • May 19 - Leadership staff training begins (this date may change)

  • May 29 - All staff training begins

  • July 29 - Most staff to depart

  • Aug 12 - Leadership staff & about 10 counselors (including a lifeguard) will be needed until this date

PROGRAMS
See Summer Program and Day Camp pages. Staff have the opportunity to serve both on-site and off-site within the context of these programs.

SALARY
Salaries vary from $1,800-$3,000 for the summer depending on position and prior year(s) of service. Room and Board is also included.
